Thank you so much for your partnership on the Robin Hood Benefit.  The client was beyond happy and people said it was the best year yet.  Your onsite team was amazing – Joe, Vinnie and Vinnie (the lead who stayed through the start of the event).  We love working with Drape Kings on the this project, it’s a massive undertaking and there are always those things that crop up onsite (this year was no exception!), but you roll with the punches and never fail to deliver an amazing end product.

Dru partnered with AV Drop founder Tony Martinez this week at the Pro Light & Sound Trade Show in Frankfurt Germany. They’ve had a great turnout so far, and Dru’s is working hard to let AV Drop’s International clients know about Drape Kings so they can reach out to us when they’re producing shows in the US.

Last but not least, we welcome Jannyra Guzman who joins our New Jersey team as our Assistant Production Scheduler, reporting dually to Christina Villalobos and Rey Espinoza. Jannyra will be focused on assisting Christina with the daily stagehand schedule tasks as we go into our busy season this year. She has her educational experience in Film and Production at the Art Institute of Tucson, AZ and was later recruited by ESPN International for a position as a Multimedia Editor. Later, she moved to News and Entertainment as Production Assistant at Fox61 in Connecticut and now recently relocated to the New York Metropolitan area. We welcome Jannyra to our Drape Kings team! Feel free to stop by her desk and welcome her aboard.

Today we officially welcome and onboard our recent new hires to the Drape Kings expanding team!

Adam Batt joins us as a Senior Sales Manager who will be responsible for both rental and sales of primarily AV Drop as well as all our products. This is a new role combining both rental and sales as we continue to seek new ways of structuring our company for growth. Adam will work cross functionally with the AV Drop team and rental/sales departments. He will report to Linda Passaro with technical support from Kevin and myself. We will work together over the next week to define his account responsibilities and communicate to the entire rental and sales teams, so we work closely aligned. Adam has many years of relevant experience in the live event industry in sales roles, most recently working for 3 years at Dazian Creative Environments. Prior to his event sales experience, Adam spent 20 years in corporate marketing in Senior Media Director roles at various top 10 Advertising Agencies in NYC. His scenic experience, industry relationships and business skills will be strong assets to our team.

Welcome to Emily Weldon who joins our Chicago team as a Production Coordinator reporting to James Kearney. Emmy will be focused on AV Drop as we grow this important product category. She is joining us this week in NJ to be trained fully on AV Drop. Emmy has an extensive relevant background in theater design working as a Scenic Designer and Technical Director for 3 years. She also earned her Master of Fine Art from Ohio University. Her technical skills including CAD, Photoshop and Carpentry will be valuable to our AV Drop team.

Nicholas Foli will also work in our Chicago office in the role of Stagehand / AV Drop Tech, reporting to James. Nick has valuable experience in both installation and transport of live event scenic solutions. He spent 4 years at Event Creative as a Scenic Specialist, building and striking complex event decor jobs on both the local and national level. For 3 years, he also installed high-end, detailed millworker into luxury homes for Lagomorph Designs.

In our NJ office, Carl Schwartz joins Drape Kings as a Stagehand / AV Drop Tech, reporting dually to Rey Espinoza and Christina Villalobos. Carl has a strong technical theater background with years of experience as a Project Manager and Master Carpenter. He most recently acted in role of Lead Installer at SBI on premium jobs for Cartier, Tommy Hilfiger and La Perla. At Kadan Productions, he acted in the role of Carpenter and Lead Installer for 5 years on very high-end jobs including Fashion Week, Versace, Hermes and Chanel.

As we continue to grow our Drape Kings business, we are focused on bringing in additional quality talent to reach our goals.
